THE EXPERTISE OF TRADITION,
THE CULTURE OF INNOVATION

ABOUT US

Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier (VMF) is a manufacturer of high-end mechanical movements and watchmaking kits. The motorist of Parmigiani Fleurier, its clients and partners include some of the great names of Swiss watchmaking. On their behalf it produces calibres offering different levels of personalisation, or develops exclusive haute horlogerie mechanisms from a blank canvas.

TRADITION AND INNOVATION

The heir to a long tradition, Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier is also forward looking. It invests in innovation and the training of young people to ensure that expertise is passed on from generation to generation. As a result, today it can count on the skills of more than 200 employees, representing around twenty watchmaking and micromechanical professions.

EXPERTISE AND FLEXIBILITY

Founded in 2003 in Fleurier, in le Val-de-Travers, VMF is vertically integrated in a nexus of skills comprising more than 50 watchmaking professions. It controls the entire value chain of the mechanical watch, including strategic components of the movement and watch exterior. This unique independence allowed the creation in 2013 of the Vaucher Private Label entity, whose mission is to support a diversified watch industry, enabling brands producing small quantities to buy in movements, dials, oscillators/balances, cases and finished products.

AN HISTORIC TRADITION
IMBUED WITH INNOVATION

Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier is the heir to a long tradition which has its origins in the 18th century, when the Vaucher family produced its first movements in Fleurier, the home of the manufacture today.

Considered to be the first ‘small-scale’ watchmaker of the village of Fleurier at the time of its origins in 1730, David-Jean-Jacques-Henri Vaucher trained many apprentices, including the young Ferdinand Berthoud who, some years later, with Harrison, became one of the founding fathers of chronometry and was appointed Clockmaker to the King of France.

In keeping with this philosophy, Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier continues to pass on knowledge, training numerous apprentices and sharing its expertise as a movement manufacturer with talented watchmakers.
